Noto-ginseng boasts huge popularity as a health food item. Through adding tochu (eucommia ulmoides) leaves and turmeric to noto-ginseng flowers, which possess four times more saponin than the roots of noto-ginseng, we have made a granule mix that is easy to drink.
Following five years of joint research with Kyoto Pharmaceutical University, we have turned noto-ginseng into a consumer product without harming its wonderful properties. This is the first time in Japan that a product has combined the untainted properties of noto-ginseng flowers, roots and tochu leaves. This is cherished by many people as a wonderfully effective health drink.

Noto-ginseng superior to Korean ginseng

In ancient China, noto-ginseng was regarded as a priceless commodity "more valuable than gold." In southern China and Southeast Asia, it is held in higher esteem than Korean ginseng.

[Noto-ginseng flower]
The noto-ginseng flower contains 29.2% saponin, four times the concentration found in roots. A number of special saponins have been discovered to exist only in noto-ginseng, and one of these - notoginsenoside - has been clearly proven to have beneficial health effects in mice experiments conducted by a group led by Professor Yoshikawa of Kyoto Pharmaceutical University Department of Pharmacology.

In ancient China, noto-ginseng root was regarded as a priceless commodity "more valuable than gold." In southern China and Southeast Asia, it is held in higher esteem than Korean ginseng. According to research conducted by the group led by Professor Yoshikawa of Kyoto Pharmaceutical University Department of Pharmacognogy, the saponin content of noto-ginseng root is 7.4%, far higher than the content of Korean ginseng.

Balance of Diet and Taste

The flower and root of noto-ginseng form a perfect balance of forces. The aboveground noto-ginseng flowers and tochu leaves are the yin, while the underground noto-ginseng roots and turmeric are the yang. Effect is measured taking into account this balance of yin and yang in Chinese herbal medicine. We have strived to realize functionality as a health food item while considering the balance between dietary content and flavor.

[Tochu leaves]
Tochu (eucommia ulmoides) was highly prized in ancient China. The genipocidic acid contained in the leaves is a health promoter. The tochu leaves we use are made in Ina, Nagano Prefecture.

[Turmeric]
Turmeric, a perennial plant of the ginger family, contains abundant curcumin ? an active health ingredient - in the rootstalk. We use Burmese turmeric, which has large curcumin content and high scarcity value.
